A private jet used by billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk has arrived in Beijing, according to a Reuters witness.
Sources said Musk is expected to meet senior Chinese officials and visit the Tesla factory in Shanghai, his first visit to China in three years.
Tesla has not yet responded to a request for comment on whether Musk has been to China. It is not yet clear which Chinese government officials Musk will meet nor what issues he will discuss.
There have been no reports in state media of Musk's visit.
China's foreign ministry said in a statement that the government welcomes Musk and other business leaders looking to promote "win-win cooperation".
Reuters reported in March that Musk plans to visit China and is seeking to meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
