US tycoon Elon Musk, the Tesla and Twitter CEO, broke a new Guinness World Record for the largest loss of personal fortune in history.
The mercurial businessman has lost between $183 billion and $200 billion of his wealth in 2022, according to the Guinness World Records.
Musk's net worth peaked in November 2021, when it reached $340 billion, according to Bloomberg estimates.
But Tesla shares, responsible for most of Musk's wealth, entered free fall last year, dropping 65% in 2022.
Today, Musk is worth $144.4 billion, according to the latest Forbes estimates.
Notably, the record was held by Japanese tech investor Masayoshi Son who had lost USD 56 billion.
