Several prominent journalists who had their Twitter accounts suspended earlier this week have had them restored by Elon Musk.
The contentious new owner of the social media site tweeted early on Saturday morning, "The people have spoken. The seven accounts that were momentarily suspended "will have their suspension lifted now," Musk continued.
The announcement came after an overwhelming majority of Twitter users chose to have the accounts immediately reinstated.
A number of well-known journalists were unexpectedly removed from the airwaves on Thursday, including Aaron Rupar and Keith Olbermann, as well as Drew Harwell of The Washington Post, Donie O'Sullivan of CNN, Matt Binder of Mashable, and Matt Binder of Mashable.
Later that day, the billionaire charged the reporters with violating Twitter's private information and media guidelines by disclosing sensitive information about his whereabouts.
