Billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, retained the title of the world richest, despite a repositioning among the 10 wealthiest due to the fluctuations in the technology markets.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, dropped one position, while investor Warren Buffett rose three spots.
According to reports, the combined wealth of the world's 10 wealthiest amounted to about $1.63 trillion until August 2024, a decrease of about $25 billion from the previous month.
Elon Musk's wealth increased by 17%, equivalent to $19 billion, to reach about $241 billion by the beginning of August.
Among the most prominent winners during the past month was Buffett, who jumped from 10th to 7th spot; thanks to the increase in his wealth with about $10 billion, becoming one of only two people on the list whose wealth soared.
The biggest loser among the world’s richest people, however, was French luxury goods mogul Bernard Arnault, whose fortune fell by more than $14 billion as shares of LVMH plunged 9% in July. Still, Arnault remains the world’s third-richest person with a fortune estimated at $179.5 billion.
