US entrepreneur Elon Musk has officially become the world's first trillionaire, with his net worth surpassing $1.1 trillion following the landmark public listing of SpaceX.
According to estimates based on company data, Musk's fortune crossed the trillion-dollar mark as SpaceX shares began trading on Friday. The company's record-breaking initial public offering raised $75 billion, making it the largest IPO in US history.
SpaceX shares were priced at $135 each, giving the company a market valuation of approximately $1.77 trillion and placing it among the most valuable publicly traded firms in the United States.
The bulk of Musk's wealth is tied to his stake in SpaceX, estimated at around $866 billion, alongside holdings in Tesla and other technology ventures.
The milestone widens Musk's lead over the world's other richest individuals, whose fortunes are estimated at less than $300 billion, marking an unprecedented gap in global wealth rankings.
