Arsenal are reportedly showing interest in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch as Mohamed Elneny is expected to leave on a free transfer.
Elneny has made only ten appearances with Arsenal since the start of the season, three of which were in the EFL Cup where he helped his team reach the semi-finals.
As a result, rumors started to emerge about the midfielder’s future and the possibility of his departure.
The rumors have only gotten stronger with renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano claiming that there are no talks between Arsenal and Elneny for a new contract.
The Egyptian international sees his contract at the Emirates expire by the end of the current season, with his next destination believed to be Turkey.
With Elneny’s departure coming closer, Arsenal are now looking for a replacement, with their main interest being Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, according to The Telegraph.
Similar to Elneny, the Austrian midfielder will be a free agent next summer as his contract with Hoffenheim ends by the end of the current season.
