On Wednesday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi asserted that the deep relationship between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece is considered a model for comprehensive regional cooperation.
He hailed the situation of Cyprus and Greece in supporting the Palestinian people's right to the establishment of their independent state based on international law principles and United Nations resolutions.
President El Sisi said in his opening remarks at the trilateral summit that the trilateral summit between the three countries embodies the strong bonds between the three countries' peoples and nations.
He added that in recent years, this cooperation has been more than a platform for discussing regional issues; it is a partnership that targets enhancing stability in the region, which depends on cooperation in addressing political, economic, and social challenges.
President El Sisi stressed the importance of collaboration and coordination between the three countries, especially in light of the escalations in the Middle East.
The Egyptian President emphasized the need to intensify efforts to de-escalate the tensions in the region, particularly the war in Gaza and Lebanon.
He highlighted the need to ensure stability in Syria, Libya, Yemen, and Sudan while avoiding the continued escalation of conflicts that could lead to a war, which would have catastrophic consequences for all—politically, economically, and security in addition to displacement and illegal migration.
He described economic cooperation between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece as a "vital strategic step," not only in terms of enhancing economic growth but also as a vital step toward achieving the regional economic integration they target.
President El-Sisi welcomed the meetings of the Business Forum between the business communities of the three countries, which is being held on the sidelines of the summit.
He noted that this forum serves as a platform for exchanging views and exploring opportunities to enhance mutual investments that would positively impact their peoples.
