Facts about Eid Al-Adha…

Eid al-Adha، which is an Islamic festival، is known in non-Arab media as (Festival of Sacrifice).

It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to sacrifice his first-born son, prophet Ismail, as an act of submission to God’s command.

It came to him as a vision while he was sleeping. And when he was just about to complete the action، Allah revealed that the sacrifice has already been given. The act showed that love for Almighty was above everything for Ibrahim and he can sacrifice his life and his loved ones، if God orders the same.

In honor to this un-finished sacrifice، which was stopped also by God's command، Muslims around the world celebrate this event every year " Zu El-Hega" Hijri month، by sacrificing an animal ( goat، sheep، cow، camel… etc.).

Families who cannot afford to do a sacrifice an animal for Eid have the option to donate some money as an act of charity.

Eid al-Adha also signifies the end of Hajj، which is the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and is celebrated by Muslims  across the globe.

The rituals of celebrating Eid al-Adha starts with Eid prayer in the early morning: The prayer that is attended by millions of celebrators.
