The Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the Levant region, Gelsomina Viglioti, said that the bank may raise the value of its financing to Egypt, which amounted to one billion euros annually during the past seven years.
Viglioti linked the raise of funding to Egypt's hosting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
She added the EIB is working on finalizing the agreement on financing new projects in Egypt in the railway sector and wastewater treatment plants along with the financing of projects related to achieving food security under the conditions of the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
