The Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations in New York, Osama Abdelkhalek, held a meeting with Michael Mlinar, the Acting Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
During their discussion, they talked about the latest regional developments, as well as the arrangements between Egypt and UN-Habitat for the 12th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF12). The forum is scheduled to take place in Cairo from November 4th to 8th. They also talked about the specific details and arrangements that need to be made for the forum.
In February, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with a delegation from Habitat in the New Administrative Capital.
During this meeting, he instructed them to draw up an executive plan for the coming months leading up to the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12).
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of coordinating with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to allocate hotel occupancy percentages to the guests of Egypt. The executive plan will cover matters including the number of invitations to be sent to heads of state and government.
