The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) announced that Thursday, April 29 will be an official holiday on the occasion of the Sinai Liberation Day.
In addition, Sunday, May 2 will be a public holiday for Easter. Moreover, Monday, May 3 will be an official holiday at the Stock Exchange on the occasion of "Sham Ennessim".
Trading in the Egyptian Stock Exchange will resume on Tuesday, May 4.
Meanwhile, the Stock Exchange recorded collective losses at the end of Wednesday's trading, driven by rapid profit-taking amid the sales of foreign investment institutions, funds and Egyptian inpidual traders.
The market cap reached EGP 650.7 billion with a turnover of EGP 10.5 billion.
The EGX 30 benchmark index dropped by 1.1% to record 10,475.62 points.
The broader EGX 70 EWI index of the leading small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) also plunged by 1.01% to close at 2,058.98 points.
While, the all-embracing EGX 100 decreased by 0.98% to 2,974.07 points.
