Egypt's Social Solidarity Min. Meets UK FonSec Reps in Occupied Palestinian Territories

Nivine El-Kabbag, Minister of Social Solidarity met Friday with Mark Bryson-Richardson, UK Foreign Secretary's Representative for Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of developments in the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the repercussions of the ongoing catastrophic war on the humanitarian crisis and its repercussions on the effective delivery of humanitarian aid that meets the urgent needs of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The also discussed ways to maximize efforts aimed at delivering more urgent relief aid to all parts of the sector, including the northern part.

El-Kabbag stressed the need to strengthen international efforts at the political and diplomatic level to deliver humanitarian aid through the most direct paths in light of the challenges witnessed .

She reviewed the Ministry’s efforts to provide various services to the Palestinians stranded in Egypt, and care for those crossing the Rafah crossing, and those accompanying the wounded and injured in coordination with the Ministry of Health, where housing, subsistence, food support, medical supplies, clothing and toys are provided for children, in addition to providing equipment follow-up services, and housing units.

The Minister of Social Solidarity indicated that the Egyptian Red Crescent has established 6 logistical zones that receive aid by land, sea, and air from all countries, stressing the many challenges facing the flow of aid, which would affect supply chains and disrupt the entry of aid trucks.
