In a critical phone conversation, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in talks concerning the current developments in the Gaza Strip.
Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy reported that the call included a briefing on Egypt's initiatives for fostering a ceasefire, providing humanitarian aid, and facilitating the evacuation of foreign nationals and wounded Palestinians.
The two heads of state concurred on the necessity to amplify global efforts to bring about an immediate cessation of hostilities, urgent humanitarian relief, civilian protection, and a move towards a diplomatic process aimed at resolving the conflict with a two-state solution framework.
The dialogue also touched upon strengthening the bilateral relationship between Egypt and Russia across several cooperation sectors.
