President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today held a series of high-level meetings that underscored both diplomatic cooperation with Saudi Arabia and strategic economic planning at home.
In the first meeting, President El-Sisi welcomed Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Cairo, where the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing coordination on regional developments. The discussions highlighted the importance of intensifying cooperation on issues of mutual concern, including regional crises and shared strategic priorities.
During their exchange, President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for Saudi leadership and conveyed greetings to the Saudi King and Crown Prince. Prince Faisal reciprocated with messages of goodwill and reaffirmed Riyadh’s commitment to deepening political consultations and expanding cooperation with Cairo.
In addition to diplomatic dialogue, the president also reviewed strategic plans to develop Egypt’s telecommunications sector. In a meeting with senior government officials, including the Prime Minister and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, El-Sisi examined key initiatives to modernize and expand the national telecom infrastructure.
The discussions focused on advancing 5G services, broadening coverage to underserved regions, and strengthening Egypt’s position in the digital economy. New services such as enhanced mobile broadband and Wi-Fi Calling were highlighted as part of efforts to improve connectivity quality nationwide. Officials also outlined progress in establishing technical frameworks to manage radio frequency usage more effectively.
President El-Sisi stressed the importance of nurturing a knowledge-based economy through telecommunications expansion and supporting local manufacturing of telecom equipment. He called for continued efforts to boost service quality, promote innovation, and ensure that modern digital infrastructure reaches all segments of Egyptian society.
The dual focus on international partnership and domestic technological development reflects Egypt’s broader strategy to reinforce economic competitiveness while strengthening diplomatic cooperation in the region.
