Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli affirmed that the Egyptian government is acting according to a proactive and comprehensive vision to manage the food security file.

This strategy is based on improving the efficiency of the domestic trade system, strengthening market readiness, and expanding modern retail outlets, enabling the state to effectively handle any potential repercussions stemming from regional and global developments.

He stressed that maintaining market stability and price balance remains a top priority for the government.

These remarks came during Madbouli’s inspection tour on Saturday of Obour wholesale market and a branch of the national “Carry On” project in Heliopolis.

This comes as part of ongoing field monitoring of markets and in implementation of directives from the political leadership to enhance food security and regulate markets.

Madbouli was accompanied by Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, Deputy Governor for the Eastern Region Mona el Batrawy along with a number of relevant officials.

The tour comes amid rapidly evolving regional developments and reflects the state’s commitment to direct oversight of the efficiency of the commodity trading system.

This includes ensuring the smooth operation of supply chains at all stages, from wholesale markets, through transportation and distribution, to retail outlets, guaranteeing the continuous and stable flow of goods to end consumers without disruption.
