Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Yemeni Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaya Mohsin Al-Zindani in Cairo to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments affecting the Middle East.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Ehab Fahmy and focused on strengthening ties between Egypt and Yemen across political, economic and regional fronts.

Madbouly welcomed the Yemeni prime minister and his accompanying delegation, stressing Egypt’s commitment to supporting bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the interests of both nations. He also reaffirmed Cairo’s longstanding position on the Yemeni crisis, including support for Yemen’s internationally recognised government and backing for the country’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Egyptian prime minister highlighted the importance of closer coordination and integration between Arab countries amid ongoing regional challenges and instability.

For his part, Al-Zindani expressed appreciation for the warm reception in Cairo and praised the deep historical ties between the Egyptian and Yemeni peoples. He stressed the need for stronger Arab coordination to confront growing regional challenges.

The Yemeni official also underscored the importance of respecting international law and refraining from interference in the internal affairs of states.

During the talks, Al-Zindani pointed to the strategic importance of cooperation between Egypt and Yemen, particularly as both countries border the Red Sea. He expressed hope for expanded joint cooperation, especially in economic sectors and private-sector partnerships, alongside support for Yemeni institutional and development capacities.

The meeting also included discussions on the latest internal developments in Yemen and regional security challenges.
