Dr. Gebaly stressed the importance of bolstering parliamentary cooperation in various legislative and parliamentary fields, as it's a vital component of strengthening bilateral relations. He also highlighted the need for ongoing consultation on mutual interests and coordination in international and regional parliamentary forums, praising the economic and trade relations between the two countries and urging cooperation among African nations for continental development.
Regarding the conflict in Gaza, The Egyptian Parliament Speaker lauded Ivory Coast's stance, aligning with Egypt's call for an immediate ceasefire and condemnation of the Israeli aggression in Gaza. He reiterated Egypt's opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians and the necessity of humanitarian aid access to Gaza.
On his part, Bictogo commended the dynamic relations between the two countries, especially at the leadership level, and emphasized leveraging this momentum to enhance parliamentary, economic, and trade relations. He encouraged Egyptian companies to expand their investments in Ivory Coast, capitalizing on their extensive experience in development and production projects.
Furthermore, Bictogo appreciated Egypt's strenuous efforts to resolve the Gaza crisis and facilitate aid to Palestinians, condemning the Israeli atrocities against civilians, including targeting schools and hospitals.
