Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, agreed on the participation of the Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Magdy Saber, in the Second Beijing International Forum for Arts under the title "Arts challenges and Opportunities After Corona"- displayed on 9 and 10 September via Internet.
Besides, Abdel Dayem directed concerned officials to build open theaters in the yards of the Opera House, stressing the need to apply the preventive measures to preserve public health and the safety of the public, which helped to resume the activities safely.
The minister noted that the same precautionary measures should be applied in closed theaters, as Egypt has succeeded in transforming the cries of Corona into a gift which contributed to accelerating the digital transformation, increasing awareness and spreading health culture among the public.
The meeting was attended by 13 representatives from Egypt, China, Britain, America, Poland, Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Korea, Switzerland, Spain and Australia.
The forum started with displaying a presentation about “studying the conditions of culture and arts in light of the Corona pandemic".
It was followed by delivering a speech by Dr. Saber in which he referred to the arts as one of the important industries and their impact on a human building.
Dr. Saber confirmed that Egypt was the first in displaying its activities, free of charge, virtually through the electronic platforms on the internet.
This move encouraged the acceleration of digital transformation and also contributed to achieving cultural justice.
It also helped the artistic product and the colors of creativity, of the Egyptian Opera House, to be reachable to various groups in Egypt and to millions of citizens from more than 28 countries around the world.
Dr. Saber added that Corona pandemic caused a change in the way of life in the world and reshaped the nature of the artistic map, as the world lost, during this period, the direct communication with the public.
He explained that Egypt was among the countries of the world that resumed its activities and preserving the arts industry- after the period of halt that continued for more than 3 months- causing a recession in the artistic product market.
Accordingly, the Egyptian government issued a decision to resume the artistic and cultural activities with a rate of 25% of their capacity.

Furthermore, he clarified the importance and necessity of the continuous communication and cooperation between the countries of the world to establish a common artistic market to achieve: exchanging experiences, ensuring communication, civilizational harmony and dialogue between cultures.
He also stressed the importance of establishing a platform to discuss the idea of cultural and artistic investment between the different countries, illustrating more than one experience during which Egypt cooperated with China - during the suspension of activities due to the pandemic.
This partnership contributed greatly to the convergence of the two ancient civilizations and cultures.
At the end of his speech, he called for organizing a monthly international meeting to discuss new ideas and propose, important artistic issues to come up with serious solutions that contribute to confronting such challenges to preserve the cultural and artistic heritage and patrimony.
