Egypt’s oil production in the Gulf of Suez has increased by around 10,000 barrels per day (bpd) as of April 2026, driven by higher output from PetroGulf, a subsidiary of the South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company.

The company has raised its production from nearly 17,000 bpd to 26,600 bpd, marking its highest level since 1982.

The increase has been achieved over a five-month period through a combination of new drilling and enhanced operational efficiency.

A key contributor was the drilling of the “North Geisum North-16” well, which added about 4,000 bpd to overall production, according to the Ministry of Petroleum.

Also,  it stated an intensive maintenance and optimization program targeting existing wells in the Gulf of Suez contributed an additional 6,750 bpd.
