As part of his official visit to attend the International Conference on "Fatwa in Contemporary Societies," will held in Singapore from February 2-3, 2024, Dr. Shawki Allam, Egypt's Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, met with several top religious officials in Singapore to discuss enhancing mutual religious and juristic cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, the Minister in charge of Muslim Affairs, Dr. Nazirudin Mohd Nasir, the Mufti of Singapore, and Dr. Mohamed Sa'eed Al-Din, the President of Singapore's Islamic Council.
In another meeting, the Grand Mufti signed a memorandum of understanding with the Islamic Council in Singapore in the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador. The memorandum aims to establish a scientific and educational system for Muslim leadership worldwide, reinforcing the values of moderation and coexistence. Both parties agreed to exchange scholarly experiences, organize conferences, and build partnerships among the member institutions and fatwa authorities.
