Egypt's Mufti meets with French Ambassador to Cairo

Egypt's Grand Mufti, President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Shawki Allam, met, with Ambassador Éric Chevallier, the French Ambassador to Cairo, to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the religious sphere.

Visiting Egypt's Dar al-Ifta for the first time, Dr. Allam explained to the French Ambassador the importance of international collaboration to support the integration of Muslims in Western communities and outlined the respectful balance Islam maintains with local customs, provided they align with Islamic principles.

Dr. Allam introduced the "Fatwa Pro" app, designed to offer accurate and moderate Islamic legal opinions globally, focusing on Muslim communities in the West. The Grand Mufti also expressed the institution's readiness for further cooperation to assist French Muslims in integrating positively into their community.

From his part, Ambassador Chevallier appreciated the opportunity to understand Dar al-Ifta's role and tasks more closely.
