Egypt’s Ministry of Culture has announced the launch of more than 500 artistic and cultural events across the country to celebrate the anniversary of the October War victory, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to fostering national pride and cultural identity among citizens.
According to Radwa Hashem, Media Advisor to the Ministry of Culture, the celebrations span all governorates and include a wide variety of activities organized by different cultural bodies under the ministry. Among the highlights is a special book fair held for the first time at the Opera Metro Station, featuring contributions from the General Egyptian Book Organization, the National Library and Archives, the Supreme Council of Culture, and the National Center for Translation. The exhibition focuses on literature and publications documenting the October War from multiple perspectives, celebrating the heroism of Egypt’s armed forces and soldiers.
Hashem noted that the celebrations also include the Damanhour Book Fair and another exhibition at the National Center for Music and Theatre in Zamalek.
Moreover, the Cairo Opera House will host a major concert featuring renowned Egyptian singers, including Hany Shaker, Mohamed Tharwat, and Mohamed El-Helou. Another musical celebration at El-Balloon Theatre will showcase the veteran artist Ali El-Haggar, creating an atmosphere of joy and patriotic pride that continues to resonate more than five decades after the victory.
She added that the Ministry of Culture is paying particular attention to engaging younger generations in the national celebration. The National Center for Cinema has launched a competition encouraging youth to produce short films using artificial intelligence inspired by the October War. Meanwhile, children’s contests aim to introduce younger audiences to stories of courage and heroism.
The ministry has also revived archival footage and official recordings from the war, including crossing statements and speeches by military leaders, which have gained significant engagement on the ministry’s social media platforms—demonstrating the enduring emotional connection Egyptians share with this landmark moment in their modern history.
