Egypt’s Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Exports have achieved the highest growth rate among the Arab countries during the first 9 months of 2022, according to a new infographic recently issued by the Egyptian Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).
Egypt’ exported 4.86mn tons of LNG during the first 9 months in 2022 compared to 4.35mn during the same period of 2021, said the infographic which monitors the recent exports of Egyptian LNG.
The infographic also showed that about 35.7% increase in Egypt LNG exports during Q2 of 2022 recording 1.9mn tons, noting that Egypt LNG exports are expected to score record during 2022 by 7-8 mn tons.
Turkey came on top of the countries receiving Egyptian natural gas exports, with a rate of 22% of the total exports, while Spain ranked second with 13%, and South Korea ranked third with 10%, it noted.
Egypt has nearly 2.186 trillion cubic meters of proven natural gas reserves, placing it 16th in the world. These reserves are equivalent to around 1.6 billion tons of LNG, according to BP and the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
