Egypt's Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel held official talks on Sunday with Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
This came within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to build on the recent ceasefire in Gaza and to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable calm.
During the meeting, they discussed key issues, foremost of which the issue of prisoners and missing persons.
Earlier Sunday, Kamel, leading an Egyptian security delegation, left Cairo for Israel and the Palestinian territories where he will discuss ways to firm up a ceasefire with Palestinian factions.
