Egypt’s Grand Mufti and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayad, said that the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza represents the ultimate test of the world’s commitment to peace.
Speaking on the International Day of Peace, Ayad warned that the observance “loses its meaning if it does not call for ending injustice and halting aggression.” He stressed that true peace can only be realized by restoring rights and allowing Palestinians to live in freedom and security on their land.
Ayad urged that peace should move beyond “slogans” and become a lasting commitment shaping international policies and protecting human dignity.
