Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, met with a delegation from Malaysia’s International Centre for Halal Studies to discuss expanding cooperation in fatwa issuance, halal industry development, and professional training, Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta said.
During the meeting, Ayyad highlighted Dar al-Ifta’s integrated religious services, including the FatwaPro application, which provides multilingual fatwas to Muslims worldwide and facilitates access to reliable religious guidance across different regions.
The Grand Mufti also emphasized the role of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, a network comprising 111 institutions from 108 countries that promotes coordination and capacity-building among fatwa bodies.
Ayyad affirmed Dar al-Ifta’s readiness to collaborate through specialized training programs, Shariah consultations, and the translation of selected publications into the Malay language.
The Malaysian delegation praised Dar al-Ifta’s international standing and expressed interest in strengthening academic and research cooperation in fatwa and halal studies.
