Egypt’s Grand Mufti Brings Messages of Peace, Moderation to Thailand

 Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, is continuing his official visit to Thailand with a series of high-level meetings and scholarly engagements.

During the visit, he met with the Speaker of the Thai Parliament and members of the advisory council, where discussions focused on strengthening academic and religious cooperation. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Grand Mufti delivered lectures at Prince of Songkla University and the Women’s Empowerment Center in Pattani, stressing the principles of Islamic moderation, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. He also met Thai students preparing to study at Al-Azhar University, affirming Al-Azhar’s role as a global beacon of knowledge and moderation. In a gathering with scholars and preachers at the historic Ton Son Mosque, he underscored values of wisdom, human dignity, constructive engagement, and societal harmony—reflecting Egypt’s leading role in promoting moderation and peace.
