Egypt’s Grand Mufti, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, attended a ceremony marking the occasion of Isra and Mi‘raj on Friday at Cairo’s historic Al-Azhar Mosque, in the presence of senior Al-Azhar scholars and prominent religious leaders.
The celebration commemorated the Prophet Muhammad’s night journey and ascension, a central event in Islamic tradition symbolizing faith, devotion, and spiritual elevation. Speakers highlighted the moral and spiritual lessons of the occasion, emphasizing values of patience, compassion, and adherence to ethical principles.
Dr. Ayyad underscored the importance of drawing inspiration from Isra and Mi‘raj to strengthen social cohesion and promote moderation, tolerance, and mutual respect within society.
