The government of Egypt was directed by President Abdel Fattah Sisi to remove encroachments and dredging work in Egypt's lakes, according to a statment.

The government also reviewed the development programs and projects that are currently underway to take advantage of the resources of these lakes, as well as legislative frameworks for their protection and management.

"President Sisi also directed the government to focus on upgrading all lakes across the Republic and boosting the economic component of development projects. This will involve organizing berths and fishermen's boats to fully utilize the fisheries resources and create job opportunities," the statment read.

They will also leverage the surrounding areas to form urban communities and tourist centers to improve the living standards in those regions.

The President emphasized the importance of relying on national companies while ensuring a harmonious alignment with the environment.
