The Cabinet approved the insurance price of some crops that the Ministry of Agriculture considers as remunerative for farmers and deserving of “support”.
This came during the weekly meeting of the Cabinet, Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
The Cabinet set the insurance price of corn, soybean, and sunflower crops for the 2023 summer season, according to a statement released by Cabinet Media Center.
It was agreed that corn will be sold at EGP 9,000 per ton, soybean at EGP 18,000, and sunflower at EGP 15,000.
This falls within the framework of encouraging the plantation of these crops to reduce imports. The General Authority for Supply Commodities will purchase these crops to ensure market balance.
