CAIRO, Jan. 19 (SEE) – Egyptian

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali

paid a visit to the Arab University in Beirut on Saturday. The University's

President Amr Al-Adawi and the affiliated faculties' deans warmly received Shoukry

and Wali.

The two ministers

are taking part in the fourth edition of the Developmental Economic Summit of

the Arab League due to be held in Lebanon on Sunday.

Shoukry expressed his happiness

to visit the Arab University, describing it as a "pioneering example of

Arab work between Lebanon and Egypt since its establishment in 1960,"

according to a statement issued by the Egyptian foreign minister late Saturday.

The Arab University in Beirut was

established under the auspices of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

"Shoukry hailed the

educational and enlightening roles of the university in Lebanon throughout the

past decades," the statement added.
