Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, discussed regional developments and issues of mutual interest during a phone call.

The two sides praised the strength of Egyptian-American relations and ongoing cooperation across various fields, pointing to the recent meeting between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, where several regional issues were discussed.

They also expressed their desire to continue working together to further advance bilateral relations and serve the interests of both countries.

During the call, Abdelatty welcomed the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that it would open the door to greater de-escalation, confidence-building, and enhanced stability across the Middle East.

The discussion also covered developments in Libya, with Abdelatty reaffirming Egypt’s support for Libya’s unity and stability. He stressed the importance of unifying national institutions and advancing a comprehensive political settlement that would pave the way for presidential and parliamentary elections at the earliest opportunity.

The two officials also exchanged views on developments in the Horn of Africa. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s support for security and stability across the region and stressed the importance of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of its states.
