Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty is set to arrive in Beirut tomorrow, Friday, January 31, carrying a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
According to a statement from the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut, this visit—the minister’s third in recent months—reflects Cairo’s commitment to supporting Lebanon during this new phase following the election of President Aoun and the appointment of Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam to form the new government.
The visit aims to revitalize cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly economic and developmental, while also strengthening political coordination.
Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, stated that Minister Abdel Aty will hold a series of high-level meetings, starting with President Aoun, followed by Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam.
He will also conduct bilateral talks with his Lebanese counterpart, Dr. Abdullah Bou Habib, in addition to meetings with key religious and political leaders.
Ambassador Moussa emphasized that this visit marks the beginning of a new phase in Egyptian-Lebanese relations, with Egypt aiming to enhance cooperation across various sectors, particularly in economic and cultural fields, to elevate ties to a strategic level that reflects the deep historical relationship between the two nations.
