Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq are going to hold a meeting in Amman on Wednesday to discuss the trilateral cooperation between the three countries, especially the economic and industrial cooperation, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced.

The meeting will also discuss the progress achieved on projects currently implemented jointly by the three countries in several fields, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated.

Egypt plans to provide electricity to both Iraq and Jordan through an international grid connection between the three countries.

In June, the three foreign ministers announced in Baghdad the launching of a project to construct an industrial city on the Iraqi Jordanian borders.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the three foreign ministers are also expected to discuss the latest international and regional developments.

They will also discuss the efforts that aim to both resolve crises and support peace and security across the region.

The Foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Iraq have held a series of periodic meetings since 2019.

The last meeting they held was in late October on the sidelines of the Arab summit in Algeria.

The meeting of the three leaders

The leaders of Egypt, Jordan and Iraq held a series of summit meetings starting in March 2019.

The last summit meeting between them was held in Baghdad in June 2021.

In August 2022, Egypt’s New Alamein city hosted a summit meeting between the three leaders with the participation of both the president of the United Arab Emirates and the King of Bahrain.
