Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdelatty, underscored the country's commitment to deepening economic, trade, and investment cooperation with the United States, describing it as a cornerstone of the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Abdelatty's remarks came during a meeting with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, led by its Chairman, Eng. Tarek Tawfik, held in Cairo.

In a statement released Wednesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Tamim Khalaf praised the pivotal role played by the American Chamber of Commerce in fostering economic and investment relations between Egypt and the U.S.

Abdelatty highlighted several recent developments that signal progress in bilateral economic cooperation. Chief among them was Egypt’s recent approval of U.S. automotive safety standards after prolonged negotiations, and ongoing preparations to sign a mutual assistance agreement in customs matters between the Egyptian Customs Authority and its American counterpart.

The minister also outlined Egypt’s recent reform efforts aimed at enhancing the investment climate and improving the business environment. He emphasized that attracting foreign direct investment remains a top priority for the Egyptian government.

Moreover, he reviewed Egypt’s stance on key regional developments, particularly the Palestinian issue, and detailed Cairo’s ongoing efforts to mediate a ceasefire and mobilize support for the Arab plan to rebuild Gaza.

The meeting also touched on the upcoming "Egypt Economic Future Forum," scheduled to take place in Cairo this May. The forum, being organized in coordination with the American Chamber of Commerce in Washington, will bring together leading figures from major American and Egyptian businesses to explore investment opportunities across various sectors and discuss ways to deepen economic ties.

The session concluded with an interactive dialogue between Minister Abdel Aaty and members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, during which participants shared ideas and proposals to further enhance bilateral economic and investment cooperation.
