Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss developments in ongoing US-Iran negotiations and the rapidly evolving regional situation.
The phone call came as part of continued coordination between Egypt and Qatar regarding efforts to contain tensions and support regional stability.
According to Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in negotiations between the United States and Iran, underscoring the importance of close coordination to help reduce tensions and prevent further escalation across the region.
The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to diplomacy and dialogue as the only viable path to resolving outstanding disputes and avoiding a broader regional crisis that could threaten peace and security in the Middle East.
Both ministers stressed that the current sensitive phase requires all parties to demonstrate maximum flexibility and responsibility. They also emphasised the need to take into account the concerns of all sides as a key foundation for achieving sustainable de-escalation and preventing the region from sliding into a new cycle of conflict and instability.
