Egypt' Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry met with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, on the sidelines of his participation at the high-level segment (HLS) of the 55th session of the UNHRC and the HLS of the Conference on Disarmament, taking place in Geneva from 26-28 February.
During the meeting, Shoukry urged Türk to continue shedding light on the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and the ongoing Israeli violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
Shoukry also called for humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and more international support for the Palestinian people.
