Egypt’s FM: Many Scenarios on Table Regarding GERD

Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry said that Egypt has many scenarios in dealing with the file the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), stressing that every situation should has an appropriate response.

During Al Hekaya talk show presented by TV host Amr Adeib,  Shoukry confirmed that Egypt insists on reaching an agreement regarding the Ethiopian dam.

He added that Egypt has repeatedly affirmed that the dam must not cause harm to the downstream countries, namely Egypt and Sudan.

Shoukry stressed Egypt's keenness, since the beginning of the Dam crisis, on adhering to the negotiating path, and moving away from political and diplomatic arrogance, amid Ethiopian intransigence and elusiveness.

He also noted that Egypt looks forward to resuming negotiations and more coordination with the brothers in Sudan, especially with the formation of the new Sudanese government to develop a vision about the next steps.
