Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, engaged in a telephone conversation with Sigrid Kaag, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in (SHRC) the Gaza Strip, to explore avenues for mobilizing aid for the region.

Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the area and emphasized the importance of collaborating with the Palestinian authorities to ensure the provision of essential services and to plan for the management of daily life for Palestinians in the aftermath of a ceasefire.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister expressed a strong interest in receiving a comprehensive briefing from the UN official regarding her efforts, communications, and field visits, which highlighted the escalating humanitarian crisis faced by the people of Gaza, a situation that the international community must address urgently, the statement read.
Both parties acknowledged the critical role of UNRWA in delivering vital services to Palestinian refugees, particularly in the Gaza Strip, and underscored that no other organization could replace its functions, emphasizing the need for sustained international support for its operations.
They also deliberated on strategies to mobilize aid for the Gaza Strip and coordinated efforts to engage with international donors.
