On Tuesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cairo downtown, according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, Shoukry hailed the continuous development of relations between Egypt and Mauritania, voicing his aspiration for holding the joint higher committee at the level of the two foreign ministers as soon as possible.
The top diplomat also expressed Egypt's keenness to enhance economic cooperation between the two sides in various fields, and to increase the volume of trade exchange and investments, especially in the sectors of marine fishing, agriculture, fish and animal wealth, and the pharmaceutical industry.
On his part, the Mauritanian Minister appreciated the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, expressing his country's keenness to continue to push forward cooperation with Egypt in various fields.
The two ministers agreed to continue working jointly towards advancing relations between Egypt and Mauritania to broader horizons.
