Egypt's FM Holds Phone Talks with Malawian Counterpart to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Egypt’s Foreign Minister and Minister of Migration, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Sunday, January 5, with Malawian Foreign Minister Nancy Tembo to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.

During the conversation, Dr. Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's deep appreciation for its historical and brotherly ties with Malawi.

He expressed Egypt's commitment to elevating these relations across various fields, including expanding capacity-building programs offered by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, promoting Egyptian investments in Malawi, and supporting its development plans. Additionally, he stressed the importance of enhancing trade exchanges to foster mutual economic growth.

In response, Minister Tembo praised the longstanding and historic relationship between Egypt and Malawi. She expressed Malawi's eagerness to deepen cooperation with Egypt in all sectors and shared her aspirations to visit Egypt soon. She highlighted the value of benefiting from Egypt’s expertise in development and capacity-building initiatives.

Both ministers agreed on the need to maintain close coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of shared interest. They also committed to mutual support for each other’s candidacies in regional and international organizations.
