Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty departed for Washington on Tuesday, seeking to enhance bilateral ties and discuss pressing regional issues.
The foreign minister is scheduled to meet with senior officials in the US administration, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as members of Congress.
At the meeting in Washington, they are expected to discuss advancing the Egyptian-American strategic partnership and exchanging views on the latest developments in the regional landscape.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty will also attend the annual meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in his capacity as Egypt’s Governor at the World Bank.
Furthermore, he will hold a series of meetings with delegations of the participating countries, in addition to senior officials of WBG and IMF aimed at enhancing joint cooperation.
