Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty traveled to Tunisia on Sunday to hold bilateral meetings with senior Tunisian officials and take part in the trilateral ministerial meeting on Libya.

The visit comes within the framework of strengthening and advancing bilateral relations between Egypt and Tunisia, as well as exchanging views on key regional issues of mutual concern.

During his visit, Abdelatty is set to participate in the meeting of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria under the trilateral consultation mechanism on Libya. The meeting will be attended by Hanna Tetteh, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya.

The trilateral talks aim to enhance coordination and consultation among the three countries regarding the latest developments in Libya, support efforts to achieve stability, and uphold Libya’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The meeting also seeks to contribute to fulfilling the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, stability and development.

The visit underscores Egypt’s continued engagement with regional partners to promote political solutions and stability in neighboring Libya.
