Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, is set to depart for Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, on Wednesday evening to lead the Egyptian delegation at the seventh session of the Joint Committee between Egypt and Kenya, held at the ministerial level. Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, announced the visit, highlighting its significance in the context of bilateral relations between the two nations.

In addition to chairing the Joint Committee, Minister Shoukry will participate in a business forum held on the sidelines, involving 25 private sector companies from both Egypt and Kenya. The forum aims to explore joint economic and investment cooperation opportunities, further strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.

The spokesperson revealed that Minister Shoukry is also tasked with delivering a message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Kenyan President William Ruto. The visit will include discussions with the Kenyan Foreign Minister to explore ways to enhance cooperation and consult on various regional and international issues of mutual interest.

This visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Kenya in 1964. It reflects the recent momentum in bilateral relations and the mutual interest in consulting on significant issues, deepening cooperation across all sectors. The visit underscores the vast opportunities for joint cooperation, especially in investment, trade, and technical cooperation, marking a pivotal moment in the historical ties between Egypt and Kenya.
