Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, praised the deep and close cooperation ties between Egypt and the Comoros.
The foreign minister was addressing a joint press conference held on Sunday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Comoros, Mohamed Mbaé at the conclusion of their talks in Cairo.
Abdelatty welcomed his Comorian counterpart and the accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt.
He also expressed deep appreciation for the participation of the Comorian foreign minister in the celebration of Africa Day at Cairo University on Saturday.
The Egyptian foreign minister added that the visit of the Comorian delegation comes within the framework of the first session of the joint committee hosted by Egypt, reflecting the two countries’ keenness to strengthen joint cooperation.
He added that the meetings of the joint committee reflected convergence in views regarding bilateral cooperation as well as regional and international issues of common interest.
Abdelatty said the meetings crown the political will and directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and President of Comoros Othman Ghazali, following the visit paid by the President of the Comoros to Egypt in May 2025, which witnessed the establishment of the joint committee between the two countries and laid the foundation for enhancing cooperation in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.
The foreign minister explained that the extensive talks held on Sunday addressed ways to strengthen and support all aspects of political and economic cooperation, in addition to cooperation in the higher education and fisheries sectors.
