Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty arrived on Sunday at Carthage International Airport in Tunisia to take part in a regional meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries.
The Egyptian minister was received upon arrival by Mohamed Ali Nafti, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, reflecting the close coordination between the two countries.
Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit comes within the framework of participation in the trilateral consultation mechanism bringing together the foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria to discuss developments in Libya. The visit also includes bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening and advancing relations between Egypt and Tunisia, as well as continued coordination on regional issues of mutual concern.
During the visit, Abdelatty is scheduled to take part in a joint meeting of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria within the trilateral consultation framework on Libya, attended by Hanna Tetteh, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya.
The meeting is intended to enhance coordination and consultation among the three countries regarding the latest developments in Libya, support ongoing efforts to achieve stability, and reaffirm commitment to preserving Libya’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Officials said the discussions aim to contribute to meeting the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, stability, and sustainable development.
