Egypt's First Lady, Entissar El-Sisi, wife of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi offered its heartfelt condolences over the death of veteran star Ragaa el-Gedawy, who passed away earlier today after suffering severe complications of COVID-19.
"With great sadness and sorrow, I mourn the death of iconic star Ragaa El-Gedawy who passed away today, leaving behind her a great legacy of high-end and honest artistic works, which will be immortalized in our minds forever," she wrote on her official page on Facebook.
"May her soul rest in peace," she added.
It is worth mentioning that, the late legendary actress tested positive for the coronavirus in May, two days before she wrapped up filming for the TV series “Le’bet El Nesyan”.
She was moved to a hospital in Ismailia for treatment, where she spent 46 days before death.
Last week, a source at the hospital revealed that the actress had reportedly been transferred into the intensive care unit (ICU), as her health worsened.
