On Thursday, the Egyptian Football Association (FA) chief Gamal Allam signed the contracts for a friendly match between Egypt and South Korea, scheduled for June 14. The contracts stipulated that a private plane would be allocated to facilitate the return of the Egyptian team immediately after the match end on June 15.

The signing ceremony was attended by some members of the Egyptian and Korean Football Association.

The Egyptian FA officials reviewed the travel arrangements with the Korean Embassy in Cairo to finalize the technical procedures related to training, accommodation, stadiums and others.

This game will be the first friendly game for The Pharaohs in the era of their new manager, Ihab Galal.

Galal will start his mission with the Egyptian national team on 5 June against Guinea at home in the AFCON qualifiers before traveling to Malawi to face Ethiopia on 9 June.

The Pharaohs are expected to travel to South Korea on 10 June after facing Ethiopia.

Egypt's last meeting with South Korea was in 2005 in a friendly match in Seoul and the Pharaohs won the game 1-0 thanks to Emad Moteb's goal.

"The team's training camp on 30 May to prepare for the upcoming matches and we will play our home matches at Cairo International Stadium." Mohamed Shawky, the team's assistant coach, stated.

Galal was appointed to lead the Egyptian national team after the departure of Carlos Queiroz, who led the team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers and the 2022 AFCON.

Egypt lost the AFCON final to Senegal on penalties and the same happened when the two teams met in the final round of the World Cup qualifiers.
