Egypt's Exports to UK Jump 52% to $591 Mln in H1 of 2021

The value of Egyptian exports to the UK increased to $591.1 million during the FY2021, compared to $388.5 million, year-on-year, an increase of 52.2%, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The report indicated that the value of Egyptian imports from the UK dropped to $615.9 million during the H1 of 2021, compared to $736.5 million, year-on-year, with a decrease of 16.4%.

The value of trade exchange between the two countries recorded about $1.2 billion during the H1 of 2021 compared to $1.1 billion, year-on-year, an increase of 7.3%.

Remittances from Egyptians working in the UK grew by 33.9% to $489.2 million

The value of remittances from Egyptians working in Britain amounted to $489.2 million during the FY2019/20 compared to $365.4 million during the FY2018/19, an increase of 33.9%, while the value of remittances from the UK citizens in Egypt reached $71 million during the FY2019/20 compared to $57.7 million during the FY2018/19, an increase of 23%.

According to the latest estimates, the population of Egypt recorded 102.5 million people in 2021, while the population of the United Kingdom recorded 68.2 million people.

UK investments in Egypt recorded $2.4 billion during the last fiscal year, down 35.6%

The reports also showed that the value of UK investments in the Egyptian market reached about $2.4 billion during the FY2019/20, compared to $3.7 billion, year-on-year, with a drop of 35.6%.
