Egypt's Exports to France Increase 61% to $1.8 bn

The value of Egyptian exports to France has increased, recording $1.8 billion in 2022, compared to $1.1 billion in 2021, an increase of 61%, according to Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

While the value of Egyptian imports from France reached $2.2 billion during 2022, compared to $1.8 billion during 2021, an increase of 19.2%.

CAPMAS indicated an increase in the value of trade exchange between Egypt and France, reaching $3.9 billion in 2022, compared to $2.9 billion in 2021, an increase of 35%.

Regarding the most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to France during the year 2022, the list included mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products at first spot with a value of $766.6 million, then fertilizers with a value of $328.2 million, then machinery, appliances and electrical equipment with a value of $216.5 million, then organic and inorganic chemical products with a value of $122.3 million, and finally plastics and their products worth $50.9 million.

The most important groups of goods that Egypt imported from France during 2022 are pills worth $582 million, pharmaceutical products worth $299 million, machines, electrical appliances, and mechanical appliances worth $232 million, cars, tractors, and bicycles worth $141 million, and various chemical products worth $116 million.

The value of French investments in Egypt recorded $550.6 million during the fiscal year 2021/22, compared to $276.2 million during the year 2020/21, an increase of 99.3%.

The value of remittances from Egyptians working in France amounted to $120 million during the fiscal year 2021/22, compared to $126.1 million during the fiscal year 2020/21, a decrease of 4.8%.

While the value of remittances from French working in Egypt amounted to $8.3 million during the fiscal year 2021/22, compared to $10.7 million during the fiscal year 2020/21, a decrease of 22.5%.
